Drug and Alcohol Reasonable Suspicion for Supervisors

Supervisors of commercial motor vehicle drivers (CLASS A or B Drivers Licenses) are required to take 60 minutes of training on alcohol misuse and 60 minutes of training on controlled substance use. The training will be used by supervisors to determine whether reasonable suspicion exists to require a driver to undergo reasonable suspicion testing under DOT regulations (Title 49, Part 382.603). There will be a discussion about skills for observation, documentation, testing policy and procedures, and signs and symptoms of alcohol and controlled substance abuse.

Bill Taylor joined Sedgwick in 2020, He brings 35 years of environmental, health and safety experience. Prior to joining Sedgwick, Bill served as Safety Manager for the City of Anaheim and as the Safety Officer for the City of Pomona and the City of Pasadena. During his tenure, he administered the City’s safety programs and policies. He provides safety and risk management consultative services to a variety of public entities, including municipalities, non-profits, and housing authorities.
